Did you try google? If so wth did you search for? I just threw some keywords at it and it spit out a whole bunch of shops that sell round plastic boxes. Guess what I searched for? Hint: round, plastic, box.

LMAO!

nah no tupperware, i got a really cool design i wanta do.

What's wrong with tupperware? It's extremely high quality plastic in the shape and size you want.... It's expensive but hey...

Well, making different competitions for different types of harsh vocals would take a long time, and there would be some debate as to what vocalists qualify for which category, I'm sure. So that's why all harsh vocalists can be included here.

There are four vocalists that have made it into the voting round, with more than two votes each:

Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth)
Christian ćlvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry, The Few Against Many, Solution .45)
Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity)
Fernando Ribeiro (Moonspell)

Below are eight vocalists with two votes each:

Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy)
Pasi Koskinen (Ajattara, Amorphis, Shape of Despair)
Peter Meynckens (Ex-Axamenta)
Ihsahn (Emperor, Ihsahn, Peccatum, Hardingrock)
Devin Townsend (Devin Townsend, Strapping Young Lad)
Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy)
Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth)
Tomi Joutsen (Amorphis)

Unfortunately, only six of these vocalists can make it into the voting round. To help decide who these six will be, please nominate three vocalists from these eight candidates. It does not matter if you have already nominated them once before. :)

I choose:
Peter Tägtgren
Tomi Joutsen
Johan Hegg

Hopefully we'll have a clear top-ten by tomorrow. No new nominations will be accepted henceforth - people can choose three vocalists from the eight listed above, or five from the eight listed above if they have not nominated anyone yet.

16th Jul 2009 (ATP Stuttgart)
Kiefer - Greul 2 @ bet365 2,75 2/10

Head-to-head record 0:0

Two Germans will fight for a third round spot at Stuttgart today. Experienced Nicolas Kiefer will face his fellow countryman Simon Greul. Kiefer hasn’t played a lot of matches this year and his match practice for this one is insufficient as he is first up here since Wimbledon. It is not a secret that he doesn’t like clay and he has never played this home tournament before. Clay is by far his worst surface and he has a negative career record on this surface. Kiefer primarily employs an offensive baseline playing style, although is fairly comfortable playing from all court positions. He also has a particularly excellent array of finesse shots, including the high lob and drop shot, both of which he can strike from any position, including from deep in the court. Kiefer' primary weakness is his movement. He doesn’t like to play the long rallies for the back and often tries to attack soon. In the first round, he defeated inconsistent Berdych but Czech player did most of the work for him. He will play Simon Greul who has been playing in a good shape lately. He performed well across all surfaces and he should be confident enough. There is a big gap between these two players but everything can happen on clay and odds above 2.65 are at least worth trying for a small stake.

Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out Im the chosen one
Oh nooo!

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling people their desire
Satans sitting there, hes smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please God help me!

Is it the end, my friend?
Satans coming round the bend
People running cause theyre scared
The people better go and beware!
No, no, please, no!

AHEM!!

Just so you know. The reason Izzy is a mod is because she sold her soul by agreeing to send David and I a year-round supply of Girl Scout cookies. Me, thin mint, David, Samoas.

The key word her is "year-round" as GS cookies are only sold, sadistically, in the spring when many of us are trying our best to get in shape for summer. We forced Izzy to find a way to keep these cookies in production all year. There are now GS cookie "sweat shops" where hundreds of young Girl Scouts bake and bake and bake just to keep us happy.

Her soul is ours as are her GS cookies.

urp.

Joni, I thought we agreed to keep that quiet... (Maybe I shouldn't tell you about that industrial strength freezer in my basement that is full of old girl scout cookies .)

I just read the most horrifiying space related news yet. Apparently, Pluto will no longer be considered a planet under the rules of the International Astronomical Union! Apparently Pluto broke rule 3 because its oblong orbit overlaps Neptunes's orbit. Now Pluto will be clased as a lonely dwarf planet along with asteroids and such. Will Pluto ever be classified as a planet again! Also, since Pluto broke the guideline, doesn't that mean Neptune did, I mean it does go through Pluto's orbit?

I.A.U. planet rules:

1. Must orbit the sun

2. Be large enough to assume a nearly round shape

3. Must clear the neighborhood around its orbit.

Hi Wilba!

It looked like Jorge did a cool trick to create the grooved borders around sections... using one piece that goes behind the C64's front panel edge (with cutouts), and then putting smaller pieces on top of that. This not only gets you a front surface that's at the same level as the original case, but it should be stronger where it joins to the original case, and you could use a stronger or thicker material for the rear layer for strength.

Ah... makes perfect sense!
I've also been thinking about hiding the screws holding the LCD etc. on to the back of the front panel. If I were to do as you suggest, I could screw the boards to the bottom single sheet, then glue the panel fascia over the top. The only problem of course is getting hold of the plastic sheet, and cutting the panel shapes for the front surface without a laser cutter or CNC machine....

If you've got heaps of cases spare, reusing bits of a second case is ideal, that stuff is pretty strong plastic... I guess I'm just suggesting to support the new front panel with something that overlaps it and the edge of the original case's cutout.

Good advice.

You might want to consider the easier solution of sticking the new plastic panel on top - if you round the edges a bit, and fill gaps with a bit of putty, and spray the lot one colour, it won't be that noticable and a lot easier to make.

I know it's much easier. I just don't like the way it looks. Plus, I'm the kind of person who likes to set himself unrealistic targets ;)
What kind of putty do you recommend? I wonder, is there some kind of putty-like substance that will stick to the C64 case, then harden to a surface that can be sanded? I vagually remember something similar from my model-plane-making days, but can't remember the details....

Cheers again,

Alex

4th Aug 2009 (WTA Los Angeles)
Hantuchova - Oudin 2 @ pinnacle 2,60 2/10

Head-to-head record 1:0

American prodigy Melanie Oudin will play Slovak Daniela Hantuchova in the first round at LA tennis open. Oudin is an extremely talented player and we think the big results will come for her sooner or later. She is the former world junior number two and her career high rank is No. 70, achieved last month. Her YTD match record is 30-10 and her biggest success comes from 2009 Wimbledon. Oudin entered Wimbledon as a qualifier and defeated Sybille Bammer in three sets in the first round and Yaroslava Shvedova in three sets in the second. In her biggest career win to date, Oudin defeated world no. 6 Jelena Jankovic to be eventually beaten by Agnieszka Radwanska in the fourth round. Despite her small size, she has a relatively powerful serve. Her footwork, balance, and court coverage are exceptional and she is adept at changing from a defensive style to an aggressive one. She likes the fast surfaces and should feel fine in LA which she proved in quallies. She will play experienced Slovak Daniela Hantuchova who is having not a bad season. Hantuchova's game is built around natural timing. She is able to produce "effortless" power from her flowing groundstrokes and possesses a superb down-the-line forehand and backhand. She possesses a heavy serve and has a particularly effective "kick" second serve. Her favourite and most effective construction of a winning point is her flat serve out wide on the Ad-court, followed by a backhand winner down the line. Her volleys are very well-produced and often have the deftest of touch. Due to these attributes she is known as an "All-arounder". A weakness of Hantuchova since she emerged from the juniors was her lack of explosive movement around the court. In recent years, however, this aspect of her tennis has been vastly improved. Last week, she played her first round match at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, winning in three sets against defending champion Aleksandra Wozniak. She then defeated No.7 seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the second round but fell to Elena Dementieva in the quarterfinals. She plays in a solid shape but we believe that young Yankee will be a hard nut to crack for her. With qualifying matches under the belt, Oudin will be able to keep the match close. Hantuchova is 1-0 up in head-to-head record but that match was very close and Hantuchova defeated Oudin in 3 sets in Miami this year. Anything above 2.5 worth considering here.
